What was that? Disappear for a month? Yes, I suppose I did. For the last couple of years, May has been Mid-Life Crisis Month, as my lease on academic life always seems about to expire, and I become morose and given to sullen contemplation of the private sector. No posts, I pledged, until the situation resolves itself. And so you can tell that now it has.
More substantial news to come soon, as there's a line of people waiting to use this computer. In the meantime, though, here are three important positional truths:

Steady on. It's not The Ohio State University, and it's not quite final yet besides, but Brandon's on the right track. Assuming it all comes together, this is looking like a pretty sweet deal for your humble correspondent.
Got to run to the airport. Post o' details forthcoming. Maybe from one of the free Samsung terminals in Hong Kong, although I don't know how long my layover is. (I am informed that Kuala Lumpur has a very reasonable internet + all you can drink deal, so next time it's Malaysia Air for me.)
